Blaze Rips Through Historic Thatched Cottage in New Forest
Firefighters are battling a fierce blaze at a grade two listed thatched cottage on Wiltshire Road, Bransgore, deep in the New Forest. Sixteen fire engines from across Hampshire have been scrambled to tackle the stubborn flames.
Massive Firefighting Effort Underway
The fire broke out just before 9pm on Monday. Fire crews from Burley, Christchurch, and Springbourne—covering Dorset and Wiltshire—joined forces with Hampshire firefighters to fight the fire.
Salvage Operation in Full Swing
While teams continue external firefighting, a major salvage operation is underway to save what remains of the treasured historic building.
