Brighton Scraps Huge Xmas Market for Local Fest
Brighton and Hove Council is shaking up Christmas this year. After the big Christmas market in Valley Gardens, run by E3 Events, pulled out citing Covid chaos, supply snags, and soaring costs, the council is stepping in to launch a fresh festive bash.
Community at the Heart of New Festivities
The new Christmas event will be smaller and community-led, spotlighting local artists, craftspeople, food producers, and performers. Expect brass bands, choirs, handmade gifts, crafts, and family-friendly fun. The council will be consulting locals and partners soon to shape this cosy, creative celebration.
Council Boss Buzzing About Local Talent
“We’re excited to announce our plans for a different type of Christmas celebration this year that will be community-focused and centered around our fantastic local artisans and performers,” said Councillor Alan Robins, the culture lead.
Brighton & Hove’s Festive Future
With the big events company bowing out, Brighton & Hove Council is seizing the chance to craft a unique, vibrant Christmas experience worthy of the city. The venue is still up in the air, but the aim is crystal clear: bring the city together and celebrate local creativity with flair.
Keep your eyes peeled for updates as Brighton gears up for a fresh, festive spectacle like no other.
