Terrifying Burglary in Thatcham – Police Hunt Four Armed Men
Thames Valley Police are urgently looking for witnesses after a terrifying armed robbery at a home in Thatcham on Monday evening.
Gang of Four Fake Cops Break In
At around 6.25pm on July 9, a woman in her 60s was at her property on Benham Hill, London Road, when her dogs alerted her to something outside. She spotted a dark blue Volkswagen Golf on her driveway. The occupants jumped out and shouted, claiming to be police officers.
Despite her efforts to stop them, FOUR men forced their way inside. One ordered her to sit down, while the others ransacked the house demanding gold, money, passport, and handbag.
Descriptions of Daring Thieves
- Man 1: White, slim, under 5ft 9ins, 20s, light brown striped trousers, black gloves. Carried a silver/stainless steel bar with a red handle.
- Man 2: Black, medium build, same height, 30s, blue clothing and gloves. Held a black bar with two prongs at one end.
- Men 3 & 4: Both white, around 20 years old, all wore balaclavas to hide faces.
The burglars grabbed gold rings and other jewellery before fleeing. Luckily, the victim was unhurt but left shaken. She got help from a neighbour who immediately called police.
