Luxury Yacht Dealer on the Run Again After Failing to Return from Day Release
The Vanishing of Lisa Brown
Scotland-born Lisa Brown disappeared on November 4, 2015, from her home in Guadiaro, San Roque, Spain. She lived there with her eight-year-old son. The alarm was raised four days later when she failed to pick him up from school. Police searching Lisa’s apartment found signs of a violent struggle before she vanished without a trace.
Ex-Boyfriend Simon Corner Flees, Then Caught
Lisa’s former partner, Simon Corner—also known as Dean Woods—was quickly questioned by police. Instead of cooperating, Woods fled abroad. He was arrested months later in Denmark and extradited back to Spain. Despite initial imprisonment, Woods was released and soon broke bail conditions. European Arrest Warrants followed, leading to his arrest at Heathrow Airport. But to the shock of Lisa’s family, the case was dropped due to insufficient evidence, and no charges stuck.
Legal Rollercoaster and Drug Ring Conviction
Lisa’s family got a glimmer of hope in October 2018 when the investigation reopened. Yet, that hope was crushed again when Spanish lawyers confirmed Woods would not face trial for Lisa’s disappearance. Instead, Woods was jailed for his role in a €10 million drug ring, landing a 12-year sentence. Lisa’s mum, Helen, has never stopped fighting for answers.
Woods on the Loose Again – Police Warned
The nightmare has struck again. Woods failed to return from day release at HMP Sudbury on Saturday, 19 November. Serving his sentence in an open prison, Woods simply walked away. Standing 5ft 11in, medium build, with short brown hair and brown eyes, he speaks with a Liverpool accent.
Helen Brown blasted the justice system: “What are they doing giving him day release when he was sentenced to 12 years two years ago and he’s in an open prison, free to obviously come and go as he pleases but didn’t bother to return. While we thought he was inside it gave us some peace and pleasure that he was somehow paying with his freedom but no what an absolute joke of a justice system. Especially with his record of numerous names, passports, and help he receives with absconding he should have never been let to go there.”
