Firefighters Race to the Rescue

At 2.58am yesterday (19 April), six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were scrambled to a blazing house on Greenwood Close, Morden. Crews from Wimbledon, New Malden, Mitcham, Sutton, Tooting, and Kingston tackled the inferno.

Roof Destroyed, First Floor Damaged

The fire completely gutted the roof of a two-storey terraced house, which had a loft under construction. Flames also damaged part of the first floor. Miraculously, no one was hurt during the dramatic blaze.

Fire Put Out By Early Morning

After nearly two hours of battling the flames, the fire was declared out at 4.42am. Authorities are now investigating what sparked the devastating fire.
