Fire Hits Ground Floor Restaurant and First Floor Flat

A fierce fire engulfed a restaurant on the ground floor and a flat above it. Thankfully, there have been no reports of injuries.

Emergency crews closed Longbridge Road, causing heavy congestion between Fanshaw Roundabout and Salisbury Avenue. Drivers are urged to avoid the area.

Firefighters Battle Blaze Through the Night

Station Commander Steven Vydelingum, who was on scene, said: “Crews are working tirelessly to put out this fire. The area is congested due to the road closure, and motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.”

The fire service was called at 7.24pm and had the blaze under control by 8.57pm. Firefighters from Barking, Ilford, East Ham, Plaistow and nearby stations responded swiftly.
