Blazing Inferno Rocks Cricklewood Broadway
Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters swarmed Cricklewood Broadway on Friday, April 21, after a devastating fire tore through a third-floor flat and loft above a shop.
Four People and a Dog Rescued
Brave crews rushed to save four residents and a dog, safely leading them out of the burning building. A man received medical treatment at the scene from ambulance crews.
Massive Fire Response
The London Fire Brigade’s 999 Control Officers answered 38 calls as the blaze spread. Firefighters battled the flames decked out in breathing apparatus, using a 32-metre turntable ladder to fight the fire from above. Road closures choked the area for hours to keep the heroes safe.
Cause of Blaze Under Investigation
The Brigade was alerted at 10:10am and had the fire under control by 12:46pm. Engines from West Hampstead, Kentish Town, Finchley, Willesden, Hendon, North Kensington, and nearby stations joined the effort. Experts say the fire was accidental, likely sparked by a faulty extractor fan.
