Jess Glynne No-Show Sparks Fury at Isle of Wight Festival
Festival fans were left fuming after Jess Glynne pulled out of her Isle of Wight Festival slot at the last minute tonight (Sunday). The singer failed to appear on the Main Stage, sparking uproar among the crowd. This marks the second time Jess has bailed on the festival in recent years.
Chaos and Tears as Audience Waits in Vain
Tens of thousands waited eagerly for the Brit hitmaker, but after 10 minutes of clock-watching and no sign of Jess, festival boss John Giddings took to the stage to break the bad news. Some children were reportedly reduced to tears as disappointment rippled through the arena.
Jess’ Troubled Festival History
- 2015: Jess missed Isle of Wight after undergoing voice surgery.
- Last month: She no-showed at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend.
- Just finished a gruelling tour with the Spice Girls prior to this event.
Social media exploded with frustrated fans blasting Jess for the repeated cancellations. Meanwhile, Richard Ashcroft stepped up to perform earlier than planned, running from 7:30pm to 8:40pm, followed by Biffy Clyro from 9:10pm to 10:50pm.
Official Statements: Exhaustion Cited
An Isle of Wight Festival spokesperson said: “Unfortunately Jess Glynne was unable to perform today due to exhaustion.”
Jess Glynne herself released a statement:
“Jess had every intention of performing today at Isle of Wight. However, as the show got closer it became apparent that she was physically exhausted after a very intense last few weeks touring. As a result, we took the decision to cancel the show. Jess is extremely frustrated and apologises to all her fans but ultimately her health must come first.”
