Tragic Death of 12-Year-Old Girl Struck by Falling Tree Branch in Banstead

Emergency services rushed to Grove Place near the junction with Carshalton Road shortly after 4pm on 9 November, where the young girl was tragically struck by a large fallen tree branch.

London Fire Brigade Assistant Commissioner Pat Goulbourne said: “Earlier today firefighters were mobilised to an incident near Banstead, following reports of a child being trapped by part of a fallen tree. Sadly, despite the effort of emergency service personnel in attendance, the child was declared dead at the scene. Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.”
