Train Hits Person at Three Bridges Station, Chaos on Gatwick to Haywards Heath Line
Emergency services rushed to Three Bridges station shortly after 11:45am today. The 11:15am train from London Victoria to Littlehampton struck a person while passing through the station.
All Lines Blocked Between Gatwick and Haywards Heath
Rail services are at a standstill with all lines blocked between Gatwick Airport and Haywards Heath. The train involved is currently stopped at platform 5, according to SussexTrains.co.uk.
Southern Rail Confirms Incident, Replacement Transport in Place
Southern Rail took to Twitter to express regret: “It is with great sadness that we report a person has been hit by a train between Gatwick Airport and Haywards Heath.”
They added that some coastal lines remain blocked as emergency services work at the scene.
Passengers are advised that their tickets will be accepted on alternative Southern and Thameslink routes, London Buses between London and Purley, and the London Underground via any reasonable route.
Rail replacement buses will start running from Three Bridges within the next 30 minutes.
