A shocking 20 cats crammed into a tiny garden in North East Lincolnshire have been rescued by a local charity, racking up a hefty bill of over £3,000.
Elderly Woman’s Death Leaves Cats Homeless
These cats were cared for by an elderly woman who did her best to feed them. Sadly, after her death, the cats were left abandoned with no one to watch over them. Cats Protection stepped in last month to save the stranded felines.
Charity Overwhelmed by Massive Rescue
The local Cats Protection branch admitted they “certainly didn’t have the space for all 20” and had to call in reinforcements from other teams. Each cat underwent full medical checks, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, plus neutering when possible. Several needed urgent care for injuries.
Some Cats Too Worn for Rehoming, Charity Appeals
Many cats had been living rough so long they aren’t fit for adoption. The charity is working hard to place them safely but urgently needs public donations to cover the eye-watering £3,000+ cost of rescue and treatment.
