M20 Chaos: Two Lanes Shut After Heavy Goods Vehicle Smash

Two lanes of the busy M20 motorway in Kent remain closed after a serious crash involving two heavy goods vehicles. The collision happened at around 5.37pm on Saturday, January 22nd, between junction 8 (Maidstone East) and junction 9 (Ashford).

Emergency Services Rush to Scene

Paramedics scrambled to the scene to treat drivers. While their injuries are currently unknown, reports suggest they are not serious. However, the tractor units involved didn’t fare so well.

Major Clean-Up Underway

  • Specialist recovery firm Manfield’s is leading a big operation to clear the wreckage.
  • Lane closures will last until at least 10.30pm as recovery and road inspections continue.

More Trouble on M20

National Highways and police are also dealing with another incident between junctions 3 and 4 on the London-bound carriageway. This involves an overseas HGV and a van. Kent Police have been contacted for comment. Stay tuned for updates.
