A major fire broke out in an underground bunker at Fullingpits Wood, Maidstone, sparking a swift emergency response on Sunday afternoon.

Firefighters Race to Scene with Six Engines

Kent Fire and Rescue Service got the call at 1:59pm and quickly sent six fire engines plus a technical rescue unit to tackle the blaze. Fire crews donned breathing apparatus and used positive pressure ventilation fans to clear thick smoke from the confined space.

Two People Treated by Paramedics on Site

Paramedics assessed two individuals at the scene before handing them over to the South East Coast Ambulance Service. Their conditions have not been revealed.
