Blaze on Balcony Sparks Midnight Fire Frenzy in Canning Town
Six fire engines and 30 firefighters from East London raced to the scene after a match tossed on a balcony sparked a fierce blaze in the early hours of Monday.
Barking Road Shut as Firefighters Battle 3rd Floor Inferno
The fire broke out on the third floor of a highrise near Rathbone Market. Barking Road in Canning Town remains shut both ways as crews fight the flames.
A specialist aerial ladder was brought in after firefighters were scrambled just after 2am to tackle the blaze engulfing the balcony.
Fast Action Limits Damage as Fire Probe Launched

- The fire is believed to have started behind the building’s cladding.
