Tragedy on Forest Road: Woman in 60s Fatally Injured in Crash

Hampshire Police have confirmed a woman in her 60s died after a serious collision on Forest Road, just outside Newport, Isle of Wight, on Sunday afternoon.

The road remains closed as emergency services deal with the aftermath at St Mary’s Hospital. Hampshire’s roads policing team has flown in from the mainland to lead the investigation into the crash.

The woman was a passenger in a Fiat Bravo involved in the collision. Three others in the car are in critical condition, having been airlifted to southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton General Hospital for urgent treatment.

Bus Driver Also Seriously Injured

A man in his 50s driving the number 7 bus involved in the crash also suffered serious injuries.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said: “We are investigating a serious road traffic collision on Forest Road in Newport, which has tragically resulted in the death of a woman in her 60s.”
