Fast Police Response as Collision Confirmed
Police raced to the scene after reports came in around 5am. En route, they learned the wrong-way driver had collided with a second vehicle. Officers quickly apprehended the culprit, who was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.
Driver Hospitalised and Held in Custody
The detained driver was taken to a nearby hospital for precautionary checks. He now remains in custody at a south London police station as investigations continue.

“Police were called at about 04:55hrs on Sunday, 28 January to reports of a car travelling on the wrong side of the carriageway on the A2 in Bexleyheath. While en route, officers were informed that the car had collided with a second vehicle. The driver was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and taken to a hospital as a precaution. He remains in custody at a south 1 police station. The road was partially closed to traffic.”
