The Met Office has slapped a yellow weather warning on the South as Storm Kate barrels in tonight. Brace yourself for fierce winds and relentless rain from 9pm onwards, with Hampshire facing gusts up to 70mph on Monday.

Expect inland gusts between 50-60mph, while exposed coastal areas could gust up to a whopping 70mph. Met Office warns these conditions could cause travel chaos and damage.
Heavy Rainfall Risks Flooding and Debris
Storm Kate won’t hold back on the rain either. A prolonged downpour is forecast to sweep in overnight and spill into Monday morning. The South could see 10-20mm of rain, with some spots drenched by up to 30mm. Frequent showers may dump 10-15mm in just a few hours, raising serious flood risks.
The Met Office cautions that surface water flooding is possible, made worse by wind-driven debris piling up.
