Met Office Issues Yellow Warning as Snow and Heavy Rain Batter South East
Get ready for a messy Friday morning! The Met Office has slapped down a yellow weather warning from 5am to 10am, warning of heavy rain, sleet, and snow across parts of Kent, Essex, and London.
Slippery Roads and Travel Chaos Ahead
Persistent showers will start the day, turning sleety and snowy at times. Drivers face slick roads from surface water and slushy patches, especially on the North Downs and Chilterns where 1-2cm of snow could settle on grassy areas.
The rain will clear northwards by midday, bringing some brighter skies but a chilly breeze and isolated heavy coastal showers will stick around.
Commuter Disruptions Expected
Expect longer journey times. Spray and standing water will slow traffic, while snow may briefly cut visibility and create treacherous conditions. Bus and train services may also suffer delays during the morning rush.
The maximum temperature will struggle to hit 7°C, so wrap up warm if you’re heading out.
Stay alert and plan extra travel time! This winter mix is no joke.
