FBI Foils Teen’s ISIS-Inspired New Year’s Eve Bloodbath Plot
An 18-year-old from North Carolina has been stopped in his tracks by the FBI after planning a gruesome New Year’s Eve massacre. Christan Sturdivant reportedly aimed to stab up to 21 victims using knives and hammers before dying as a “martyr” in a final showdown with police.
Handwritten ‘New Years Attack 2026’ Plan Discovered
Authorities uncovered a chilling handwritten manifesto titled “New Years Attack 2026” that laid out Sturdivant’s deadly New Year’s Eve scheme. The attack was planned for the night of December 31, 2025, through January 1, 2026.
Seized from his home were a tactical vest, mask, gloves, two butcher knives, a blue hammer, and a wooden-handled hammer hidden under his bed — all weapons for the coming carnage.
“It also listed a goal of stabbing as many civilians as possible and the total number of victims as 20 to 21.” – Prosecution statement
Online ISIS Chats and ‘Martyrdom’ Threats
The FBI got wind of the plot after a tip-off on December 18 exposed Sturdivant sharing pro-ISIS content online. He even talked to an undercover agent posing as an ISIS supporter, saying, “I will do jihad soon” and calling himself “a soldier of the state.”
In one disturbing post, he posted a picture of Jesus figurines with the caption: “May Allah curse the cross worshipers,” echoing ISIS rhetoric to wipe out non-believers.
FBI Hails Swift Action, Warns of Lone Wolf Threat
FBI Director Kash Patel praised investigators for their quick response. “Our teams quickly identified the threat and acted decisively—no doubt saving American lives in the process,” he told Fox News.
Sturdivant is yet to enter a plea on charges of providing material support to a foreign terrorist organisation.
This botched attack is a stark reminder that ISIS-inspired lone wolves radicalised online remain a deadly threat. It highlights the vital role of sharp-eyed law enforcement and robust social media surveillance in keeping the public safe.
