Armed Police Swarm Southampton Home in Dramatic Night Raid
Specialist armed officers from Hampshire Police swooped on a house in Shirley, Southampton just after 8pm on Monday, January 2.
Armed Units and Dog Handlers Descend on Property
A team of heavily armed officers, accompanied by dog handlers, surrounded a property at the busy junction of Paynes Road and Shirley Road, close to Vere Accounting and Business Insight.
More armed officers emerged from nearby Cawte Road, some carrying Tasers, entering the property through a side gate in a tense operation.
Weapon Seized But Police Silent on Details
A specialist Forensic Support Unit (FSU) van was also dispatched to the scene. Police refused to reveal the nature of their callout or if any arrests had been made.
However, onlookers witnessed officers remove several items, including what appeared to be a weapon wrapped in a white cloth, carried away in a brown paper bag.
It’s still unclear whether the weapon was used or if any suspects have been detained. Hampshire Police remain tight-lipped as investigations continue.
