Man in His 70s Mugged in Folkestone Bench Attack
A pensioner was robbed and assaulted while sitting on a bench in Folkestone. The victim, in his 70s, was approached by a man demanding money on Sandgate Road.
The thug attacked the victim, stealing his wallet. The injured man needed hospital treatment.
Suspect on the Run
The crook is described as a white man with a tanned complexion, brown hair, and a thin build. He stands about 6ft tall and wore a white top with grey tracksuit bottoms.
Attempted Robbery Hours Later
Less than an hour later, a man in his 60s faced a similar attack in Pleydell Gardens. Both incidents happened between 8pm and 9pm on Monday, May 13, 2019.
Police Seek Witnesses and CCTV
Officers believe the two crimes are connected. Anyone who saw the attacks or has CCTV footage from Sandgate Road or Pleydell Gardens is urged to come forward immediately.

The Mirror can reveal that he was convicted of unlawful wounding and common assault at Maidstone Crown Court in December 2023, in relation to an attack on a woman and a man. Treeby was sentenced to 14 months in prison, suspended for two years, a court official confirmed. She said her first visit to the country lasted about a week and was positive, describing it as “the time of my life”.
