Teen Stabbed in Kingston Night Attack

Detectives hunting for answers after a stabbing in Kingston are urging witnesses to step up. Police rushed to Wood Street at 3.40am on Saturday, 29 February, following reports of a violent incident.

A 19-year-old man from Barnes was found with a stab wound. Officers gave first aid before rushing him to a west London hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Four Men Arrested, Two Charged

  • A 20-year-old was arrested at the scene and charged with possession of blades and affray. He’s been remanded in custody and is due in Kingston Crown Court on 26 March.
  • An 18-year-old was arrested nearby on suspicion of attempted murder and later bailed to return later this month.
  • A 20-year-old arrested on 1 March faces charges of grievous bodily harm (GBH) and dangerous driving. He was granted bail after appearing at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court and must next appear at Kingston Crown Court on 26 March.
  • A 19-year-old was arrested on suspicion of affray and released on bail.

The crime scene has now been cleared as the investigation continues.

Police Call for Witnesses

Detective Chief Inspector Helen Rance, leading the inquiry, said: “This was a terrible attack on a young man who was simply enjoying a night out with his friends. Now he lays in hospital in a critical condition. It is vital that anyone with information comes forward to help us investigate this case, so that those who committed this horrific attack are brought to justice.”

Sally Benatar, South West Commander, added: “My thoughts are with the victim of this senseless attack in Kingston Town Centre, and with his family and friends. We are determined to work with our communities and local partners to take weapons off the streets of south west London and to prevent violence in all its forms.”
