A notorious shoplifter and burglar who racked up over £7,000 in stolen goods across Kent has been jailed. Reashad Quirk, 37, stole perfume, booze, and electrical items from shops in Folkestone, Canterbury, Maidstone, and Chatham between September 2019 and February 2020.
Targeted spree: from supermarkets to department stores
- Between September and November 2019, Quirk hit supermarkets and a pharmacy in Folkestone, making off with £600+ worth of spirits, food, and gadgets.
- In December, he stole £800+ worth of perfume and aftershave from a Canterbury department store.

- February’s crime involved breaking into a commercial premises in Broad Oak Road, Canterbury, to pinch computers and other equipment.
Justice served at Canterbury Crown Court
Quirk, from Finsbury Park, north London, admitted multiple counts of shoplifting and burglary. He was sentenced to 20 months behind bars on Wednesday 11 March 2020 at Canterbury Crown Court.
Persistent thieves like Quirk cause misery for local businesses and I am pleased he is now off the streets and unable to trouble anyone for a significant amount of time,” said Detective Constable Andrew Palmer, Kent Police’s lead investigator.
Police pieced together a strong case from extensive CCTV footage, ensuring Quirk’s crime spree came to a definitive end.
