Hair-Raising Attack on Camden Bus Sparks Police Hunt

Police have released a photo of a woman they want to identify after a shocking assault on a busy Camden bus.

Blazing Assault on the Route 328

On Sunday 30 August at 4.45pm, a woman boarded the Route 328 bus at Kilburn High Road, heading towards Maida Vale. She took a seat at the rear on the lower deck but didn’t tap in her Oyster card.

The victim, a 33-year-old woman, sat directly in front of her. The suspect then pulled out a lighter and started burning strands of the victim’s hair.

“Call the Police, I’ll Burn You Anyway”

When the victim tried to call for help, the suspect stormed off the bus yelling: “Call the police, send me to jail, I will burn you anyway.”

PC Matt Cannon, leading the investigation, said: “The victim was understandably shocked and distressed. It was sheer luck she didn’t suffer burns.”

Police Appeal: Help Identify the Suspect

Officers are keen to identify the woman captured in the released image. Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting 5466/30AUG.
