Teen Stabs Man Outside Lewisham Takeaway in Brutal Gang Mix-Up
18-Year-Old Found Guilty of Grievous Bodily Harm
Joshua Erorh, 18, from Courtney Road, Grays, has been convicted of causing grievous bodily harm with intent after stabbing a 21-year-old outside a fast food joint on New Cross Road, Lewisham. The attack happened late on Saturday, 14 March. Erorh faced charges at Kingston Crown Court and was cleared of attempted murder.
Attack Fueled by Gang Mistaken Identity
The court heard Erorh believed the victim was part of a rival gang — a deadly mistake. Erorh even posted a Drill music video online boasting about the stabbing, referencing the food order he made just before the attack.
Knife Wielding Assault and Dramatic Getaway
At around 11:50pm, Erorh, hiding a knife under a white plastic bag on his hand, confronted the victim, stabbing him twice in the chest — one strike hitting the heart. The victim’s brother tried to intervene, but Erorh fled on foot towards Goodwood Road, leaving behind the blue bike he had ridden to the scene.
Victim Collapses and Frantic Police Chase
Unaware of the severity of his wounds, the victim and his brother chased after Erorh. Moments later, the victim collapsed. His brother rushed him to hospital by car. Police on patrol stopped the erratic vehicle on Friendly Street, Deptford, just minutes after, providing emergency first aid before paramedics arrived.
Erorh will be sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 8 February 2021.
