Met Police Crack Down on Illegal Car Meet in Rainham – Over 50 Fines Handed Out!
Traffic cops from the Met teamed up with officers in Havering to smash an illegal car meet on Ferry Lane, Rainham, last Saturday evening.
Illegal Car Meet Shut Down
The loud, unsanctioned gathering of revving engines and screeching tyres sparked public outrage, prompting locals to tip off the police.
Fifty Drivers Slammed with Fines
In a swift response, officers issued fixed penalty notices (FPNs) to more than 50 ‘Covidiot’ drivers flouting lockdown rules.
“This is not an essential journey! As a result, over 50 FPNs have been issued and further intelligence submitted,” said some very pleased officers.
Met Stands Firm on Lockdown Enforcement
The Met’s tough action sends a clear message: illegal car meets won’t be tolerated during these restricted times. Anyone caught breaking lockdown rules faces serious fines.
