Thug Rams Cop’s Bike in Shocking Oldbury Smash

Last November, a video went viral showing a thug deliberately ramming a police officer off his motorbike in Oldbury.

PC Steve Lovering was targeted by Callum Fellows, 18, who smashed his stolen Seat Leon into the officer’s BMW bike after being spotted on Ashes Road on 27 August last year.

Heroic Bystanders Rush to PC’s Aid

PC Lovering pulled up alongside Fellows, whom he suspected of car crime. Suddenly, Fellows reversed and rammed the bike, sending the officer crashing into the road. Fellows then sped off, driving on the wrong side and running red lights.

Thankfully, several quick-thinking passers-by rushed over to help PC Lovering upright his bike and check he was unharmed.

The stolen Seat Leon, fitted with false plates, is believed to have come from a car key burglary. Police have yet to recover the vehicle.

Fellows Jailed After Court Confession

Fellows, from Mervin Road, Wolverhampton, was identified in an ID parade and last week pleaded guilty to assault, dangerous driving, and driving while disqualified at Wolverhampton Crown Court. He was sentenced to three years behind bars.

Detective Sergeant Chris Jones said: “Fellows’ actions were completely reckless and it’s lucky PC Lovering didn’t suffer serious injuries. Despite some back and shoulder pain, nothing was broken and he is okay. Fellows’ behaviour was dangerous and completely unacceptable.”
