A driver’s windscreen was smashed after objects were hurled from a bridge over the M26 near Wrotham.
Shocking Attack on Moving Car
The terrifying incident happened at 2:40pm on Wednesday 24 March 2021. As the driver passed under the A227 Borough Green Road bridge, something was thrown at their vehicle, smashing the windscreen.
Police rushed to the scene but couldn’t track down the culprits.
Dangerous and Malicious Act
Sergeant Sarah Alvey from Tonbridge and Malling Community Safety Unit slammed the reckless attack. “Throwing anything at a moving vehicle is reckless and malicious,” she said. “To throw something from a bridge at a moving car could easily kill someone.”
She revealed the driver spotted four children on the bridge during the attack. Authorities are now teaming up with local schools to warn pupils about the grave dangers and legal consequences.
“Parents must make sure their kids understand the risks and punishments for throwing objects onto the highway,” Alvey added.
