Newcomer to Party Sexually Assaults Woman in Her Bedroom
Oliver James Edwards, 38, homeless and dangerous, was caught after assaulting a woman at a social gathering in town on June 6, 2015. The attack happened just after 10pm when the woman, feeling unwell, went to bed early.
Edwards, who she had met only that day, ignored her silence and forcibly entered her room. The victim never consented to his advance or even his presence in the bedroom.

He will also be registered on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life, ensuring he stays under the watchful eye of authorities.

She is a credit to herself for having the bravery to come forward and see the man who did this to her brought to justice.”
“Her strength is admirable and because of her, Oliver Edwards will forever be rightly known as a sex offender.”
“This has been a long and protracted case to investigate so I am pleased it has come to the right conclusion.”
