Jail for pervert caught having sex chats with teen from behind bars

Jermaine Fraser, 26, has been locked up after admitting to sexual communication with a child and causing a vulnerable teenage girl to engage in sexual activity. The explicit calls took place between October and November 2017, while Fraser was serving time in a prison outside Hertfordshire for unrelated crimes.

Fraser’s twisted phone chats exposed

At just 23, Fraser was recorded making sexually explicit phone calls to the underage girl from Hemel Hempstead. Despite being behind bars, he shamelessly pursued her for his own gratification. Now, he’s been sentenced at Luton Crown Court to three years for causing/inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, and 16 months for sexual communication with a child. The sentences run concurrently.

Police vow to keep Fraser under tight watch

“Fraser had the audacity to contact the victim for his own sexual gratification, despite knowing she was underage and that his conversations were being recorded,” said Detective Constable Ayodeji Afolabi from Hertfordshire’s Halo team.

“He’s a danger to young people and will be closely monitored during his sentence to prevent further abuse. Child sexual exploitation is tough to investigate because victims don’t always realise what’s happening, but the damage lasts into adulthood. We are committed to protecting children and bringing offenders like Fraser to justice.”

Lifetime restrictions and support for victims

Fraser will also face a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and will be registered as a sex offender for life.

Meanwhile, Hertfordshire’s Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) offers support through Independent Sexual Violence Advisers (ISVAs). They provide expert help for anyone affected by sexual violence, including specialised support for 13 to 17-year-olds, regardless of gender. Victims can receive sensitive, professional care and assistance accessing extra services.
