Moped Rider Raheen Taylor Busted with Crack and Heroin Stash

On the morning of 13 May 2020, police stopped Raheen Taylor riding a moped on Cemetery Road. Suspecting drug dealing, officers searched him and found two mobile phones, £60 cash, and 26 deals of crack cocaine and heroin.

Taylor claimed he was told to drop off the drugs somewhere and was promptly arrested. A search of his home in Lindsey Close, Mitcham, Surrey uncovered electronic scales, a tell-tale sign of drug dealing.

Taylor and Accomplice Howell Caught in Drug Supply Dragnet

Taylor faced charges of possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin. Police investigations linked him to Turren Howell, who regularly met Taylor in Snodland to arrange drug deals.

Officers arrested Howell at his Rochester home on 17 September. Howell insisted he only visited Snodland for fast food, but detectives proved the restaurant was closed on his visits. He was charged with the same drug offences as Taylor.

Drug Duo Found Guilty After Six-Day Trial

Both men pleaded not guilty but were convicted after a six-day trial at Maidstone Crown Court. On 17 March 2022, 30-year-old Howell was jailed for four years. Taylor, 25, received a suspended sentence of two years.

Detective Chief Inspector Matt Talboys said: “These two dealers sought to ply their criminal trade whilst remaining anonymous through mobile phones. This proved to be their downfall. Once their phones were examined, our investigators revealed the organised supply network.”

“Our dedicated officers will continue to target and bring to justice those who distribute class A drugs and bring misery to users and the wider community.”
