Gunshot Shatters Quiet Leeds Suburb
Armed cops stormed Elmet Way in Swarcliffe at 3:25 p.m. on Sunday after a shotgun was reportedly fired. A window at a property was left smashed, but thankfully, no-one was hurt.
Forensics and Armed Raids Underway
West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide and Major Enquiry Team launched a forensic investigation at the scene. Later that night, armed officers raided a home on Rosgill Drive, hunting for clues and suspects.
“The criminal use of firearms is something we will always treat extremely seriously,” said Detective Superintendent Emma Winfield. “We are conducting extensive investigations to establish the full circumstances and to trace and arrest those responsible.”
Police Appeal for Witnesses
The community is urged to come forward if they saw anything. West Yorkshire Police and Leeds District officers have increased patrols to keep residents safe and ease concerns.
