Horrific Attack on 70s Victim

The terrifying incident occurred on 24 March 2022. Smithson stalked his victim, a person in their late 70s, all the way to their Norwich home. Justice Served: Eight-Year Sentence

Smithson was handed a tough eight-year sentence: five years behind bars plus an extended three years on licence.

“This was a deeply distressing ordeal for the victim and their loved ones, shaking their lives to the core,” said Investigating Officer DC Andrew Collinson.

“We hope securing this conviction brings some closure. I commend the victim for their bravery and cooperation and thank their family for their unwavering support throughout the investigation.”
