Tragedy Strikes Canterbury: Teen Lucy Billingham Killed in Early Morning Crash

Fatal Crash Rocks Canterbury

Lucy Billingham, just 18, has been named as the victim of a deadly car crash in Canterbury. At around 4.20am on Saturday, December 3, emergency crews raced to The Old Gate Inn roundabout on the A2050 New Dover Road. Sadly, Lucy was pronounced dead at the scene.

The car had four other passengers who were rushed to hospital but thankfully none suffered life-threatening injuries.

Man Arrested Over Reckless Driving

A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by reckless driving. Police are investigating the crash, with officers from Kent’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit urging witnesses to come forward.

Friends Pay Tearful Tributes

Heartbroken friends flooded social media with emotional messages. One called Lucy a “kind angel,” while another lamented, “Life’s too short honestly… one minute you have someone and the next they’re gone and vanished in thin air.”
