Teen Murder Horror Rocks West Ham Park
A 16-year-old boy has died after a stabbing in West Ham Park, Forest Gate, sparking a major murder investigation. Emergency services were called to the park at 5.30pm on Sunday, 9 July, where they found the victim with a stab wound. Despite frantic efforts by paramedics and the London Air Ambulance, the boy later died in hospital.
Four Teens Arrested, Two Still Held
Two youths, aged 14 and 16, were arrested on suspicion of murder. They were taken to an east London police station but were later released on bail pending further enquiries. Meanwhile, two 16-year-old boys remain in custody, held on suspicion of attempted murder.
Community Urged to Speak Out
Borough commander for Newham, Chief Superintendent Simon Crick, slammed the “tragic and senseless murder” and appealed for witnesses to come forward.
“This incident will send shockwaves through our communities. I appeal to anyone who was in the park at the time to speak to us about what they saw. We all have a responsibility to bring those who committed this senseless attack to justice.”
He added, “As a father myself, I can only imagine the pain the victim’s family and friends are suffering.”
