A man who has been charged with murder appeared before Swindon Magistrates’ Court – UKNIP

Vincent Sparkes, 44, of Station Road, Swindon was remanded in custody until Tuesday 18 July 2023 when a further hearing will take place at Bristol Crown Court at 9.30am.

The charge is in relation to a stabbing in Broad Street, Swindon, at around 9pm on Tuesday (11/07)  following which a man in his 40s died.

Detective Chief Inspector Phil Walker said: “I want to take this opportunity to extend my condolences to the family of the deceased at this difficult time.

“This will understandably have caused a great deal of concern in the local community. I would like to thank members of the public for their continued support and patience as this  investigation progresses.”
