Man Sought After Shocking Sexual Assault in Manchester City Centre
Police Hunt Key Witness in July Attack
Police are urgently appealing for information after a serious sexual assault rocked Manchester City Centre in July 2023. The attack happened in the early hours of Sunday, July 2, on Atkinson Street, involving a 25-year-old woman.
Officers were quick to respond to reports of the disturbing incident. Now they are looking for a man who could hold crucial information to crack the case.
Detective Pleads for Public Help
Detective Constable Jessica Hatton from the City of Manchester CID said: “We would like to speak to the man pictured who we believe will help us gain an understanding of what went on in the early hours of that Sunday morning. I appeal directly to him or to anyone who can help us identify him to contact us.”
The force has released an image of the man in the hope the public will come forward with tips.

Detective Hatton also commended the bravery of the victim for reporting the assault, calling it a vital step toward justice and community safety.
