Cops Crack Down on Drug Dealer in Southborough
On Thursday 8 December 2022, Tonbridge Community Policing Team swooped on a suspicious Seat Ibiza in London Road, Southborough. Officers suspected the car was involved in drug supply and stopped the vehicle.
Cocaine Stash Found Hidden in Car
After speaking to driver Dionysi Vata, police searched the car under the Misuse of Drugs Act. They found 12 wraps of cocaine hidden inside a sock behind the steering column panel.
£2,100 Cash Seized, Dealer Arrested
Vata, 20, was arrested on the spot. Police also seized his mobile phone and £400 in cash. A further search at his Grove Hill Road home in Tunbridge Wells uncovered another £1,700 in cash.
The young man was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to supply and possession of criminal property.
Guilty Plea and Remand in Custody
Vata pleaded guilty to both charges at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 10 December. He was remanded in custody and is set for sentencing at Maidstone Crown Court, date yet to be confirmed.
