Sheffield CID has released a CCTV image of a man they want to question as part of an ongoing investigation into an alleged assault on off-duty officers. An altercation is said to have occurred inside the Bessemer pub on Leopold Street around 17.00 GMT on Thursday, December 15. Off-duty police officers intervened in the pub to try to calm the situation, during which four people were assaulted and punched. As part of the investigation, two men, aged 22 and 53, were arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker. Both men are currently out on bail pending further investigation. Officers believe the man in this CCTV image may have vital information about the assaults and are asking him, or anyone who recognises him, to contact them.
