Teenager Found Not Guilty Of The Murder Of Swindon Man Lee Turner

Treyvon Ejiogu, 18, of Empress Avenue, Waltham Forest, London, pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to possession of a bladed article and two counts of being involved in the supply of class A drugs and was sentenced to 24 months in total, suspended for two years, at Bristol Crown Court today (18/01).

He was found not guilty of Lee’s death, however.

Despite the best efforts of members of the public to save him, Lee, 33, of Park North, died in October 2021 from a single stab wound to the chest.

“The defendant, in this case, admitted to carrying a knife for his own protection – there can never be any justification for carrying a knife or weapon of any kind,” DCI Phil Walker said.

“If you carry a knife, you put yourself in danger of using it or having it used against you.

“At this time, I’d like to pay tribute to Lee’s loved ones – it has not been an easy process for them to listen to details of his final moments in court, but they have dealt with this with the utmost dignity.”

The verdict today comes after the original trial ended in a hung jury in April of last year.
