Chaos on the A26 as HGV Overturns, Road Shut Both Ways
An overturned lorry has sparked major chaos on the A26 this morning. The incident blocked both directions between the Beddingham roundabout in Lewes and Newhaven, causing gridlock from around 9am.

Sussex Police confirmed at 11:12am that recovery crews were still yet to arrive, and it could be hours before the giant HGV is uprighted and the highway reopens. Drivers have been urged to steer clear of the stretch until further notice.

Traffic is at a standstill, with surrounding roads clogged and delays mounting. Sussex Travel Watch reported at 12:21pm the A26 remains shut with no reopening time in sight. Commuters are being urged to find alternative routes immediately.
