Exciting Casting Announced For Bbc's Crime Thriller Series, 'the Jetty'

Exciting news for fans of crime thrillers as further casting has been announced for the upcoming BBC series, “The Jetty.” Joining lead actress Jenna Coleman is a talented ensemble including Archie Renaux, Laura Marcus, Bo Bragason, Amelia Bullmore, Ruby Stokes, Tom Glynn-Carney, Weruche Opia, Matthew McNulty, Ralph Ineson, David Ajala, Nina Barker-Francis, Miya Ocego, Elliot Cowan, Shannon Watson, Arthur Hughes, and Dominic Coleman. The series is written by Cat Jones and produced by Firebird Pictures for BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Set in a picturesque lake town in Lancashire, the four-part series revolves around a fire that ravages a holiday home. Detective Ember Manning is tasked with uncovering its connection to a podcast journalist investigating a cold case involving a missing person, as well as an illicit love triangle involving a man in his twenties and two underage girls. As Ember delves deeper into the truth, her own life is put at risk, forcing her to reevaluate everything she thought she knew about her past, present, and the town she calls home.

“The Jetty” is not just a detective thriller but also a coming-of-age story that tackles significant themes of sexual morality, identity, and memory, particularly in the aftermath of the Me Too movement.

Writer, creator, and executive producer Cat Jones expressed her excitement about the talented cast bringing her characters to life in the series. The show promises to captivate audiences with its intriguing storyline and complex characters.

Produced by Firebird Pictures, one of BBC Studios’ owned production labels, “The Jetty” consists of four 60-minute episodes. It was written and created by Cat Jones, with Marialy Rivas serving as the director. The executive producers include Elizabeth Kilgarriff, Sarah Wyatt, Cat Jones, Marialy Rivas, Jenna Coleman, and Jo McClellan for the BBC. BBC Studios will handle international distribution for the series.

Fans eagerly anticipate the release of “The Jetty,” which promises to be a gripping and thought-provoking addition to the crime thriller genre.
