Jenna Coleman Headlines Dark New BBC Thriller, The Jetty
Crime drama fans, brace yourselves! The BBC has dropped the latest casting scoop for its upcoming series The Jetty, starring Jenna Coleman. The show boasts a star-studded lineup including Archie Renaux, Laura Marcus, Bo Bragason, Amelia Bullmore, Ruby Stokes, Tom Glynn-Carney, and more.
A Chilling Mystery Unfolds
Set in a quaint lake town, The Jetty centres on a devastating fire at a holiday home. Detective Ember Manning leads the investigation, linking the blaze to a cold case dug up by a podcast journalist. The tangled web involves a missing person and a twisted love triangle between a man in his twenties and two underage girls.
As Ember dives deeper, her own life hangs in the balance, forcing a shattering rethink of her past and the secrets buried in the town she calls home.
Thrills, Themes & Talent
This isn’t your average detective story. The Jetty tackles heavy themes like sexual morality, identity, and memory — especially in the wake of the Me Too movement. Creator and writer Cat Jones praised her cast, saying they “bring the characters vividly to life.”
Produced by Firebird Pictures for BBC One and iPlayer, the gripping four-part series is directed by Marialy Rivas. Executive producers include the likes of Jenna Coleman herself and key BBC figures. BBC Studios will also manage the show’s international distribution.
When and Where to Watch
The Jetty promises a dark, thought-provoking ride through crime and coming-of-age drama. Fans can look forward to four intense 60-minute episodes arriving soon on BBC One and iPlayer.
