Second Teen Body Found in Birmingham Murder Probe
Detectives hunting for answers in the shooting of a 16-year-old boy in Birmingham have made a chilling find. A second teenager’s body was discovered today beside a canal on Lighthorne Avenue – the same street where the first victim was shot.
Tragic Twists on Lighthorne Avenue
The original victim, aged 16, was shot at a home on Lighthorne Avenue, Ladywood, last Sunday, November 5. Despite desperate efforts at hospital, he died. Now a 17-year-old body found nearby is linked to his murder.
Alongside the second body, police also found a gun. It will undergo forensic tests. Authorities say they are not currently searching for anyone else in connection with the 17-year-old’s death.
Suspect Arrested But Still on Bail
Earlier this week, cops arrested a 17-year-old boy in connection with the original shooting. He remains on bail while detectives dig deeper. Importantly, he is not linked to the second death.
“Our thoughts remain with the families affected by these tragic events,” said Detective Superintendent Shaun Edwards, leading the homicide inquiry. “This investigation will continue for some time. We will support the families throughout.”
Police Appeal for Information
Officers are keeping a strong presence in Ladywood to reassure locals. Detective Superintendent Edwards urged anyone with info to come forward. You can call 101 or contact via 1 Chat, quoting log 1632 of November 5.
