Mother Charged with Manslaughter After Tragic Fire Kills Four Sons in South London
A chilling tragedy has rocked Sutton, South London, as 29-year-old Deveca Rose faces manslaughter and child abandonment charges over a deadly blaze that claimed the lives of her four young boys.
Two Sets of Twins Die in House Fire
On 16 December 2021, Rose’s mid-terrace home on Collingwood Road caught fire. Inside were her two sets of twin boys – three-year-olds Leyton and Logan Hoath, and four-year-olds Kyson and Bryson Hoath. Despite frantic efforts by firefighters who performed CPR at the scene, none of the boys survived.
Serious Charges and Court Update
Dressed in black, Rose attended Bromley Magistrates’ Court but did not enter a plea. District Judge Sarah Turnock granted her conditional bail and sent the case to the Old Bailey. The next hearing is set for 8 January to prepare for trial.
“You are charged with very serious offences and if found guilty, it is likely you would face a significant prison sentence,” the judge warned Rose.
