Dry-Cleaners Hold-Up Foiled by Quick-Thinking Customer

Drama on Commercial Road as a man tried to rob a dry-cleaning shop early Tuesday morning. Between 8.30am and 9.30am on 5 December 2023, the suspect stormed in demanding the cash till. But his escape plan was dashed when a customer walked in – he fled empty handed.

Who’s the Suspect?

Police describe the man as white, medium build, with black, wavy hair. He’s believed to be in his late 20s to early 30s. On the day, he wore dark trousers and carried a dark backpack.

Police Appeal: Did You See Anything?

Detective Constable Chris Welham said: “The suspect ran towards the train station after being interrupted by a customer. We are urging this customer and anyone else with information to contact us. This includes people with private CCTV in shops or homes nearby, and drivers who may have dashcam footage.”
