Portsmouth Man Jailed for Horrific Child Sex Crimes

Vaclav Kopcil, 52, from All Saints Road, Portsmouth, has been convicted of shocking sex offences against a child under 13. He faces 18 years behind bars after a jury found him guilty of multiple assaults, including rape.

Seven-Day Trial Uncovers Five Years of Abuse

The court heard the abuse took place over nearly five years, from September 2009 to April 2014. The victim was only 10 years old when the first offence occurred. Kopcil denied the charges but was found guilty on all counts, including:

  • Assault of a child under 13 by penetration
  • Sexual activity with a child
  • Two counts of rape of a female under 16 years

Justice Served at Portsmouth Crown Court

Kopcil was sentenced on Friday, 15 December, receiving an 18-year prison term. The outcome brings relief to the victim and community.
