Officers have removed a cannabis production site from an industrial estate in Dover

On Wednesday 3 January 2024, Kent Police received a report that a very large quantity of cannabis plants was growing inside a warehouse in Poulton Close.

Items of makeshift electrical equipment were also reported to be inside the building and were disrupting the regular electrical installation.

Officers attended and secured the scene while experts made the electrical supply. The cultivation was dismantled and around 800 cannabis plants were removed.

Detective Constable Robert Rainbow, of East Kent CID, said: ‘Cannabis production sites such as this are set up to fuel the illegal activities of large, organised groups whose crimes have devastating effects that ripple out through communities.

‘I am pleased that our officers have shut down this cultivation and removed these illegal drugs from circulation, while we continue investigations to bring those involved to justice.’

Anyone with information that could assist officers with their enquiries is urged to come forward. You can contact Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting reference 46/1575/24.
