Pervert Jailed for Raping Two Teenage Girls in London and Hove
A vile sexual predator has been locked up for 11 years after raping two 15-year-old girls — one in London and the other in Hove. David Berbers, 21, from Richmond-upon-Thames, will serve another three years on licence following the Met Police and Sussex Police’s joint crackdown.
Victims’ Bravery Leads to Conviction
The case came to light when a 16-year-old girl bravely contacted the Met in May 2019. She accused Berbers of repeated rape and sexual assault between December 2017 and 2018. Police gathered overwhelming evidence against him and charged him with two counts of rape.
Officers Warn of Potential Further Victims
Detective Constable Hannah Saunders, who led the investigation from the Public Protection Unit in south west London, praised the victims’ courage. She said:
“These young women have both been through a terrible ordeal. I would like to commend them for their courage and resilience. It is because of their testimony that this evil man is now behind bars and I hope this will bring them some closure.”
She also warned more victims might be out there. “Unfortunately we cannot be sure there are not more victims who are yet to come forward. I would encourage anyone with information to get in touch so we can give you the support you need and investigate any further crimes.”

Judgment Delivered at Kingston Crown Court
Berbers was found guilty of three counts of rape at Kingston Crown Court following a trial between November 27 and December 4, 2023. He was sentenced on February 16, 2024, to 11 years in prison plus three years on licence.
