Three Family Members Face Trial Over Tragic Murder of 10-Year-Old Sara Sharif
Three relatives of 10-year-old Sara Sharif are set to face trial after her body was discovered hidden under a blanket on a bunk bed. Sara’s father, 42-year-old Urfan Sharif, her stepmother, 29-year-old Beinash Batool, and her uncle, 28-year-old Faisal Malik, stand accused of the shocking murder.
Chilling Discovery in Woking Home
Sara’s lifeless body was found at her family home in Woking. Police were called following an urgent phone call from Pakistan at 2:47am on August 10, 2023. The distressed call lasted eight minutes and 34 seconds, prompting officers to act swiftly. Authorities later revealed the accused had booked flights to Pakistan just two days before Sara’s body was uncovered.
Defendants Remanded, Trial Pending
The accused, who previously lived on Hammond Road in Woking, appeared in court from Belmarsh and Bronzefield prisons. They have been remanded in custody ahead of their trial. The case has gripped the nation, shining a harsh spotlight on child protection and the urgent need to shield vulnerable youngsters from violence and neglect.
